Back-to-back missions make a busy night for RACQ CQ Rescue
RACQ CQ Rescue completed three back-to-back missions over nine hours in a particularly busy Saturday afternoon for the helicopter service.
A 41 year old man fell from a horse near Nebo and needed to be airlifted by RACQ CQ Rescue to Mackay Base Hospital with suspected spinal injuries on Saturday afternoon.
Later in the evening, an unwell 49 year old crewman on a bulk carrier was winched into the helicopter and flown to hospital in a stable condition.
Just an hour after the crew had returned to base, they were tasked to fly to the Whitsundays to airlift a 48 year old man who broke his ankle after a fall.
The eventful weekend saw RACQ CQ Rescue total 408 tasks in 2020 alone.
