The Rock stops traffic in SEQ

A Hollywood film set would close several streets around Coorparoo and Strathpine from this afternoon, prompting a warning from RACQ for local drivers to be aware of the changes to road conditions.

Ten News reported filming of the US television show ‘Young Rock’ would lock down roads in Strathpine and Coorparoo Wednesday and Thursday.

RACQ spokesperson Clare Hunter said Bells Pocket Road, Strathpine from Dobson Drive to Fox Street was closed for filming this afternoon, and Burke St and Weston St in Coorparoo would transform into a set.

“We’re expecting the glitz and glamour of the silver screen in the south east but if you regularly use these roads and don’t plan ahead, you may find yourself the star in a traffic congestion horror,” Ms Hunter said.

“You’ll need an alternative route while filming is under way and if you do get stuck, pack your patience and enjoy the star-spotting.

“Keep in mind, if you’re trying to catch a glimpse of the action, make sure you park in a safe spot and watch out for pedestrians and other traffic who may be in the area.”
