Fourth time Subaru Forrester scores 5 stars

The current generation Subaru Forester was the latest to score five-star ratings by vehicle safety authority, Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), in its recent round of reviews.

Assessed against the latest safety standards across the market, the rating for the latest model made it the fourth of its kind to achieve the maximum rating.

RACQ spokesperson Clare Hunter said the Club was pleased to see Subaru had continued to uphold its strong reputation for safety.

“You can be sure you’re in safe hands with this vehicle or any other that holds a five-star rating,” Ms Hunter said.

“If you’re shopping for a new car check out the ANCAP safety ratings and buy the safest you can afford.”

ANCAP Chief Executive James Goodwin said the Subaru Forrester achieved high results when it came to adult, child and vulnerable user protection, and safety assist.

“The Forester scored full points for the physical protection of child occupants in both side and frontal impact tests,” Mr Goodwin said.

“It is also equipped with an active safety system which can intervene to avoid a crash when a lane-change is made in error.”

The five-star ANCAP safety rating applied to all Australian and New Zealand variants on sale from September 2018.
