Drivers urged to plan for Bruce Highway closure
Drivers who would use the Bruce Highway at Yabulu, north of Townsville, have been warned about planned road works expected to impact traffic conditions next week.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads advised the highway would be temporarily closed between Greenvale Street and Saunders Beach Road, Monday 19 November to Wednesday 21 November, from 8pm to 4am each night, to remove the railway overpass north of Greenvale Street.
RACQ spokesperson Lucinda Ross said motorists should be aware the changed traffic conditions could add delays to their trip.
“If you need to use the highway on these nights you should expect long delays,” Ms Ross said.
“Remember to pack your patience and consider making alternative plans if you can.
“You can visit RACQ’s Road Conditions website for more information on changes to traffic conditions.”
