Massive delays on Brisbanes train network
Brisbane northside commuters have been left stranded with a signal fault causing mass delays of up to half an hour on all lines, the RACQ has warned.
Queensland Rail has confirmed a signal fault at Eagle Junction at 5:05am on Tuesday morning was the cause of the delays, with the Airport, Caboolture, Doomben, Ferny Grove, Redcliffe Pennisula, Shorncliffe and Sunshine Coast lines all impacted.
RACQ's Lauren Ritchie said there could be flow-on effects to traffic as commuters switched from public transport back onto the road network.
"We wouldn't be surprised to see heavier traffic this morning as people wake to hear the news of the mass delays," Ms Ritchie said.
"If you are travelling from the northside on the train network, it's going to be a game of patience as technicians work feverishly to rectify the issue."
