Fare refunds for commuters after QR fail
From 5pm to last service all SEQ Citytrain customers who travelled will automatically be refunded due to network-wide rail delays.

The Brisbane Times reported contact was lost during peak hour between the control centre and 20-25 trains, leading to Northern Lines being suspended between city stations and Toombul, and in some cases, further.
Delays of up to an hour were reported for northbound and southbound passengers while lines were closed, with residual delays continuing once northern trains resumed at 6.30pm.
QR Executive General Manager for City Trains Nick King confirmed it “lost communication capability between the control centre and train crew that drive the trains.”
“When that happens, we have to go into a series of our safety protocols because safety is our prime concern here which means bringing trains to a safe stop at platforms,” Mr King said.
Trains returned to normal for the Thursday morning peak.
