Groundwater Festival rises again on the Gold Coast
Country stars to shine at beach-side music festival.
The Gold Coast will host a weekend of sun, sand, surf and country music during the 2021 Groundwater Country Music Festival.
More quality artists have been added to the line-up of talent that will perform at the free event from 12-14 November.
Australian country stars The Wolfe Brothers, Adam Harvey, Sarah Storer, Adam Brand and Catherine Britt will feature alongside home-town talent Casey Barnes and New Zealand’s Kaylee Bell.
More than 40 artists will perform on five stages during the three-day event at Broadbeach.
Major Events Gold Coast Director of Events and Festivals Mark Duckworth said he was excited by the diverse line-up of country music talent.
“It will be great to see Adam Brand, Catherine Britt and Casey Barnes back at the event, as well as festival first-timers like The New Graces, Arlington, and Lily Grace,” Mr Duckworth said.
“Every stage will see a stellar line-up of our home-grown Aussie country music artists.”
Casey Barnes said she was looking forward to performing in her home town.
“Nothing beats a home-town show and they don’t come much bigger than the Groundwater Country Music Festival,” Ms Barnes said.
“It is easily one of my favourite festivals to perform at, plus it’s in one of the most incredible locations in Australia.”
Queensland Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchcliffe said he was delighted to see the Groundwater Country Music Festival returning after last year’s cancellation.
“For country music fans, the Gold Coast is the place to be this November,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
“In 2019, the Groundwater Country Music Festival contributed more than $7 million and 33,000 visitor nights to the Gold Coast’s tourism economy.
“Groundwater is the only festival to combine top country music acts with great restaurants in the heart of Australia’s favourite holiday destination.”
