New Sunday markets for Brisbane CBD

Expansion of Riverside markets to focus on multicultural experiences.

Brisbane’s Riverside at the Gardens QUT Infusion Market is a new Sunday attraction for the CBD.

The free multicultural-focused market is the creation of open-air markets matriarch Peter Hackworth and will complement her existing botanic gardens market near Alice and George streets.

The two markets will both run every Sunday from 8am-3pm, bringing energy, colour, arts and people to the historic end of George Street and the QUT Gardens Point precinct.

Visitors to the QUT Infusion Market will discover an array of food, a farmers market, cooking demonstrations, handmade art and crafts, fashion and gifts.

The market features a line-up of buskers and live entertainment on the wide pathway connecting the two markets.

Ms Hackworth said the popularity of her original Riverside market led to the creation of QUT Infusions.

“We really think that this is going to be an amazing market,” Ms Hackworth said.

“What we have lined up is going to go beyond what you expect.

“We hope that once the Riverside at the Gardens QUT Infusion Market is established it will become a Brisbane staple and a tourist attraction, especially with the Queen's Wharf development opening right across the road.”

Riverside at the Gardens QUT Infusions Market will be held each Sunday fromo 8am-3pm at Main Drive, QUT, next to Old Parliament House.
