RACQ helps you plug into the electric future
RACQ has supercharged its coverage of electric vehicles with a new webpage filled with everything you need to know about EVs.
The ‘Electric cars’ page on RACQ.com answers all your EV questions, from an explanation of the different types of electric cars to advice on buying an electric car and much more.
The page gives members the information they need to make informed decisions as they consider transitioning from a petrol or diesel-powered vehicle to an electric car.
RACQ supports Australia’s transition to a zero-emissions vehicle fleet. The new EV webpage aligns with our 2030 Vision to be the trusted partner for our members, providing solutions to live and move securely and sustainably.
RACQ Motoring Editor Ged Bulmer said while Australia lagged behind other parts of the world when it came to the uptake of electric cars, demand was growing.
The latest Electric Vehicle Council State of Electric Vehicles report published in October said the first three quarters of 2022 saw 26,356 EVs sold in Australia.
This represented 3.39% of all new vehicles sold and compared with 2.05% for the same period in 2021.
This represented a 65% increase in electric vehicle sales market share.
“The demand for EVs is expected to continue growing, especially as more models become available and their prices become more attractive to buyers,” Mr Bulmer said.
“The new EV page is a great resource for members wanting to learn more about electric cars as they consider making the switch.
“As well as being a great source of information on EVs, charging options and recharging infrastructure, the page will also be regularly updated with the latest news on future mobility, including reviews of new car models.”
