Nissan offers 10-year warranty
Nissan Australia has announced a new 10-year warranty and flat-price servicing on all new models, with owners of older Nissans also set to benefit.

In the face of ongoing speculation about its parent company’s financial future, Nissan Australia has sought to reassure Australian consumers that it’s here to stay with the introduction of a new 10-year warranty.
The Japanese car maker used the unveiling of a facelifted MY25 version of its Qashqai small SUV to come out swinging against suggestions that its future may be in jeopardy, because of the company’s broader financial difficulties.
Describing its new 10-year, 300,000km warranty and 10 years of roadside assistance plan as “industry-leading”, Nissan Australia Managing Director Andrew Humberstone said the warranty was part of the Nissan More program which was designed to address uncertainty in the industry.
The new 10-year warranty is “service activated” after the initial five-year warranty expires, meaning it automatically kicks in if the vehicle has been serviced at the correct intervals at a Nissan dealer during the initial warranty period.
The new warranty is available to both private and business buyers, with existing Nissan owners also set to benefit thanks to Nissan backdating the deal to eligible Nissan vehicles purchased new from January 1, 2021.
To be eligible, these older vehicles must have completed all scheduled services with Nissan at the correct interval or time.

Owners of vehicles that have not been serviced with Nissan are also potentially eligible for the new warranty if they return to a Nissan dealer to have a scheduled service and a vehicle assessment to assess their vehicle condition and eligibility.
The warranty is also fully transferable to new owners and covers all genuine Nissan accessories as well as Nissan Patrol and Navara variants modified by Premcar.
Nissan Australia backed up its warranty announcement with a new five-year flat-price service deal, designed to help give buyers the assurance that they know exactly what their Nissan servicing costs will be over the first five years of ownership.
A Nissan spokesperson said the flat-price cost structure was different to capped-price servicing in that it flattens out all servicing costs over the first five-year ownership period.
Under the new arrangement, services one to five will cost $399 on all new Nissan models except for the Navara ute, Patrol 4x4 wagon, and Z sports car, which cost $499 per service. Nissan Leaf owners will pay a flat price of $349 per service.
The company said the new structure would mean cheaper servicing costs on all Nissan models, with savings of up to $1145 on Navara, up to $465 on X-Trail, and up to $1064 on Qashqai over five years.

Nissan Australia had a strong year in 2024, despite the well-publicised challenges faced by its Japanese parent company.
The company finished 2024 up 15% year on year and was the third- fastest growing brand in the top 10.
Despite this, like most established car makers, the brand faces a growing threat to its market share from the surge in new Chinese brands.
In addition to bringing more new or updated product to market more quickly, including the all-new Nissan Ariya EV, which launches later this year, Mr Humberstone said Nissan was keen to leverage the strength of its brand in Australia.
He pointed to the fact the company has been assembling and selling cars in Australia since 1966, is currently Australia’s third largest OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) employer with over 600 employees, operates the country’s fifth largest dealership network, has its own finance arm, and has large established Parts Distribution Centres in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
Nissan Australia also operates Nissan Casting Australia in Dandenong, Victoria, which manufactures more than 1.2 million cast aluminium automotive parts for export and domestic use, Mr Humberstone said.
