Dual tourism honours for Esk Caravan Park
A Somerset region caravan park and a Far North Queensland tourism attraction have taken out the RACQ People’s Choice Awards for 2023.
The Esk Caravan Park won gold in the RACQ People’s Choice Award (Accommodation) and silver in the Caravan and Holiday Park category at the 2023 Queensland Tourism Industry Council Awards.
Esk Caravan Park owners Paul and Jackie Lawson accepted the awards at a ceremony in Cairns.
"It is a privilege to be acknowledged alongside other outstanding businesses in the industry,” Mr Lawson said.
"We are beyond thrilled to receive gold in the RACQ People's Choice Award and silver in the Caravan and Holiday Park category.
“These accomplishments are a testament to our team's steadfast commitment to providing a memorable and enjoyable experience for our guests.”
The RACQ People’s Choice Award (Experience and Service) was won by Paronella Park for the fifth time, including the past three in a row.
Regular visitor to the Esk Caravan Park Nedizha Thierry said it was a popular destination for her family.

Somerset Regional Council Mayor Graeme Lehmann congratulated the Lawsons on their achievement.
“A win for the Esk Caravan Park is also a win for Somerset,” Cr Lehmann said.

Located in the heart of Somerset, Esk is a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Brisbane and an inland gateway to Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast.
