Hit the road for music by the reef
Plan your Whitsundays road trip with QLD Music Trails’ Reef Trail, including live music, stunning coastal locations and top Australian artists.

Turquoise waters, wide-open skies and live music in unforgettable locations – QLD Music Trails is heading north this winter with The Reef Trail, a one-of-a-kind road trip experience through the Whitsundays from 2–4 July 2026.
Designed for travellers who like to follow the music, this two-stop journey blends iconic coastal scenery with standout Australian artists across two stunning settings – Lake Proserpine and the Airlie Beach foreshore.
Start inland at Lake Proserpine, where rolling hills and calm waters set the scene for a laid-back afternoon of live tunes, local flavours and family-friendly vibes.
Then cruise to Airlie Beach, where the foreshore transforms into a vibrant seaside stage – perfect for sunset sessions and unforgettable nights by the Coral Sea.
Expect a stellar lineup featuring favourites like Boy & Bear, Jem Cassar-Daley, and Tjaka, joined by Mid Drift, Kaylee West and more.
It’s music that matches the landscape – immersive, relaxed and uniquely Queensland.

Headline act Boy and Bear.
QMF Chief Executive Daryl Raven said The Reef Trail captured the essence of why QLD Music Trails was created.
“The Reef Trail brings music into places where Queensland landscapes, regional communities and culture do the storytelling,” Mr Raven said.
“QLD Music Trails invite audiences to travel differently – to slow down, follow the music and discover regions through shared moments rather than set itineraries.”
Part of the statewide QLD Music Trails series, The Reef Trail is all about exploring regional gems at your own pace and connecting music, culture and place along one of Queensland’s most spectacular coasts.
