Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival line-up announced
Blues and roots fans will converge on Agnes Waters in February for the annual Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival at the SES grounds.
This year’s festival will feature a spectacular line-up of blues and rock artists including Dear Willow, Brad Butcher and The Backsliders. Set in the coastal location of Seventeen Seventy, the festival provides a great opportunity for visitors to experience the beauty of the region.
The festival will kick off the on Friday night with an opening performance from Dear Willow, followed by Black Rabbit George and The Hillbilly Goats. Australian guitarist and singer, Lloyd Spiegel, will also take to the stage to play his traditional blues and storytelling lyrics.
To wrap up the Friday night fun, The Backsliders will close with a ground-breaking performance for festival fans. The renowned blues band includes guitarist and vocalist Dom Turner, drummer and percussionist Rob Hirst (from Midnight Oil) and Joe Glover.
Saturday will begin with Lloyd Spiegel and Minnie Marks hosting a free Blues Guitar Workshop. The entertainment will continue with performances from Brad Butcher and popular duo The Dreggs, along with a stream of other talented Australian artists including The Black Sorrows.
Sunday will be party day, kicking off with a songwriter’s session led by Brad Butcher and Kelly Cork and ending with Dallas Frasca and Jeff Curran wrapping up the party with a powerful rock performance.
Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival Event Manager Shelly Le Vesconte said this year’s event was set to be bigger and better than ever given the spectacular line-up.
“It's been wonderful meeting some of the volunteers and previous event organisers and I look forward to working with them to make this festival the best one yet,” she said.
