Beautiful walks on the Sunshine Coast
Whether you like to hike or prefer a relaxed walk, the Sunshine Coast has some wonderful trails, all with stunning views. Here are some of our favourites:
Headland Walk: Noosa National Park
The walk around Noosa headland is world famous. It features stunning ocean views, wildlife and when you look towards the sea you’re more than likely to spot dolphins frolicking, or — in the right season — whales migrating.
Mooloolah River National Park: Jowarra Section
There are a couple of gentle, short walks through Mooloolah River National Park. You can walk along the river or explore the rainforest. If you’re walking at dusk and are quiet, you might even spot a platypus.
Mount Tibrogargan: Glasshouse Mountains
The Mount Tibrogargan trails offer adventurers lots of action, including riding on horseback or dirt bike, rock climbing and more. So, if you’re just looking to enjoy a quiet stroll, you might find a little more traffic than usual along the way.
Great Noosa Trail
This network of eight connected trails passes through private property as well as national parks, roads and parklands through the Noosa Hinterland. The trail has everything from hour-long strolls through to the famous three-day, whole trail hike. The numerous lookouts provide amazing views of the mountains.
Ocean Track: Peregian Beach
There are plenty of glorious ocean views along the dune and headland walks between Peregian Beach and Coolum Beach. You’ll see plenty of birds and wildflowers as you walk, but take a moment to appreciate the delicate ecosystem of our coastline too. Make sure you pack your towel and sun hat, so you can relax on the beach and swim in the ocean before heading back again.
