Childers Festival celebrates historic town’s arts community

The Bundaberg hinterland town of Childers, four hours’ drive north of Brisbane, will host its annual Festival from Thursday 22 July to Sunday 25 July 2021.

Locals and visitors are invited to the town’s rolling red hills and stunning heritage-filled streets to celebrate the vibrant arts community with an impressive line-up of artists including national treasure Kate Cebrano, Opera Queensland and a host of local talent.

Experience the journey of sugar cane from crop to crystal on the crowd-favourite cane fire tour, discover a different side to the historic streets of Childers on the after-dark ghost tour, enjoy a night at the iconic Paragon Theatre with Kate Ceberano and discover the local wineries with performances from Opera Queensland artists set against the stunning backdrop of a local lake.

The thrilling four-day festival embraces an appealing range of local activities, events and tours, culminating on the Sunday when the Bruce Highway closes and more than 300 food and market stalls line the historic Childers streets surrounding multiple stages offering a diverse range of music offerings.
