Queensland’s climate means the state is abundant with farmland leaving drive travellers with a wealth of farm stays to choose from. Here are some great locations for a farm-stay holiday.

  1. Bunyip Springs Farm Stay

    Bunyip Springs Farm Stay is located at the foot of the Bunya Mountains. The property is a 251- hectare working farm and has two accommodation options: a restored cottage and a house called The Lodge. When staying on the farm, guests are invited to feed ducks and hens, collect eggs, milk the cows, ride horses and take a bush walk to explore the property and natural springs.

  2. Kroombit Lochenbar Farmstay

    Kroombit Lochenbar Farmstay, just inland from Gladstone, provides a hands-on farm experience complete with horse-riding, goat musters, ATV bikes to ride, mechanical bull rides, camping under the stars, and whip-cracking. Visitors can stay in bush cabins and enjoy country hospitality in the surrounds of Australia’s bush.

  3. Brockhurst Cabins

    Brockhurst Cabins are perched on a ridge overlooking the surrounding countryside one hour north-west of Brisbane. Three cabins are available and pet dogs are also welcome. A dam fed with spring water is available for swimming and rafting, and guests can help feed the animals and collect eggs from the chickens.

  4. Moorlands Farmstay

    Moorlands Farmstay is a 405-hectare property located 27km north of Oakey in the Darling Downs. When staying on the farm, visitors can participate in the day-to-day running of the farm and help with activities such as mustering the cattle, feeding the poddy calves, and rounding up cows with the four-wheel motorbike.

  5. Action Ridge Farmstay

Action Ridge Farmstay is set on 81-hectare of farm and rainforest in the lush Atherton Tablelands. Enjoy the country stars at night and, by day, you can play with the farm animals, swim in the creek, and bush walk around the property.
