Skydiving in Queensland

If you’re up for an adrenaline rush, try strapping yourself to a stranger and jumping out of a plane.

Skydiving is one of the most exciting and exhilarating sports in the world. Few other sports give you the feeling of floating on a cushion of air high above spectacular views.

Skydiving in Australia is heavily regulated by national organisations, so it’s surprisingly safe to do. If you’re jumping for the first time, or are not qualified to jump alone, you’ll be paired with an instructor for a tandem jump. Being strapped to an experienced skydiver will likely help with the nerves when jumping out of the plane.

There are different height options for skydiving, but the most common is to jump at 14,000 feet. At this height, you will experience up to 60 seconds of freefall.

After your freefall, your instructor will pull the ripcord and then you’ll have roughly four to five minutes of parachute descent before arriving at a designated landing area. On the way down, you’ll enjoy amazing views of the local area or coastline.
