Your energy bank account
How’s your bank account? Feeling broke?
I’m not referring to your financial health.
I’m talking about your energy bank account.
Similar to your financial bank account, your energy account is a simple system of deposits and withdrawals.
If you make lots of deposits into this account and you’ll feel great all the time.
But if you make too many withdrawals your body will send you an overdraft notice.
Here are the big seven energy withdrawals:
Not eating well
Too much refined sugar(or foods containing it), processed and packaged food can drain your energy bank account. In fact, almost anything found in the central isles of the shopping centre or passed to you though a car window can cause low energy.
This can include too much sitting or lying around, working at a desk all day and commuting by car r public transport.
Not getting outside
Too much indoor time, artificial light and stale air.
Not enough sleep
Too many late nights and early mornings without an established sleep routine will leave you low on energy.
Not enough play
Working late, not enough time off and failing to do the things you enjoy can impact on your wellbeing.
Not limiting alcohol
Too many beers, too much wine and harder alcohol.
Too much stress and an abundance of daily chaos will leave you .
But don’t despair. There is a lot we can do to make some big deposits into our energy bank account including:
- Eating nutrient-dense food
- Sleeping 7-8 hours per night and establishing a sleep routine
- Exercising, including incidental exercises like walking
- Experiencing nature
- Managing stressful events.
So, let me ask you.
Is your energy bank account healthy, prosperous and thriving? Or is your energy bank account overdrawn, depleted, and on life support?
Being on top of your finances provides a wider range of choices and it’s no different with your energy bank account.
Making more deposits than withdrawals in your energy bank account is the key to a happier, healthier future.
