How RACQ is supporting members in the aftermath of south-east Queensland’s devastating floods.

The cleanup after flooding that swamped south-east Queensland is well underway, however the recovery from the natural disaster will take much longer for affected RACQ members.

RACQ Group CEO David Carter said while many members were doing it tough, they could be assured they were not alone.

“We’re here to help over the days and months ahead until the recovery from this disaster is complete,” Mr Carter said.

“We are here for the long haul and have extra staff on the ground in flood-affected areas to assist members with their insurance claims, roadside assistance or banking needs, with tailored support and financial relief options available.”

RACQ also offers tailored disaster relief packages to bank members impacted by the weather events. Impacted members can contact RACQ Bank on 13 1905 to discuss their options.

RACQ Foundation is helping grassroots community organisations get back on their feet after the recent floods, with new grants worth up to $100,000 now on offer.

The special funding round, announced as part of the Foundation’s Community Grants Program, will focus on supporting local groups such as sporting clubs, historical and show societies, men’s sheds and charities that have been impacted by recent flooding in south-east Queensland.

Last week RACQ’s Mobile Member Centre was in Gympie, with claims and assessing staff supporting members.

RACQ has received more than 11,300 insurance claims for homes and vehicles.

Members have lodged claims from Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, the Sunshine Coast and Gympie.

Mr Carter said helping RACQ members get back into their homes and back on the roads was RACQ’s top priority.

“With RACQ, cover for flood, cyclone, theft and storm damage is all standard in our home and comprehensive motor insurance policies,” he said.

“We know many of you may also need immediate support, and there are ways we can help with that too – including payment for emergency accommodation, food and medicines.”

The quickest and easiest way to lodge a claim is online, or if you would prefer to speak to a consultant, you can give us a call on 13 7202.
