Tying a ribbon on 2024 - RACQ's year in review
Take a look back and reflect on RACQ’s milestones from the past 12 months.
In RACQ’s 119th year we continued to serve, support and advocate on behalf of our 1.7 million members.
While the year brought important advocacy and community achievements for RACQ it also saw Queenslanders face ongoing challenges.
Despite this, our team’s hard work and dedication to serving our members remained steadfast.
As 2024 draws to a close, we look back on the year that was.
January
From severe storms in the south east, to Cyclone Kirrily in Townsville, our teams were on the ground in January 2024 supporting our members when it mattered most.

April
RACQ marked the end of an era with its 30-year naming rights sponsorship of LifeFlight Rescue coming to an end on 30 June after the State Government announced new funding arrangements for the service.

A patrol officer made an extra special road trip to Maryborough to honour one of the Club’s longest-serving members.

RACQ MotorFest 2024 was a roaring success, celebrating 60-years of the Ford Mustang and 120 years of Club’s oldest fleet vehicle – the Rambler Model G roadster.

During NAIDOC Week, 38 RACQ Foundation volunteers travelled to Thursday Island to complete resilience works and take part in cultural awareness sessions.

August
To help motorists’ hip pocket, the State’s peak motoring body advocated for a cap on daily fuel price increases across Queensland which the State Government supported.

In the lead up to the State Election members were asked to vote on their top priorities aligned with RACQ’s core advocacy and business areas, of which ‘Fixing the Bruce Highway’ came out on top. This set the scene for our Fix the Bruce campaign which will be a focus in the lead up to the Federal Election.
