Driving tests cancelled in Queensland
RACQ has warned Queensland learner drivers all practical tests would be cancelled for three months from Saturday.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads announced those who had a driving test booked, would receive an email or SMS to confirm the test had been cancelled.
RACQ Head of Technical and Safety Policy Steve Spalding said considering the current pandemic it was not unexpected.
“Given the current health advice is to social distance to stop the spread of COVID-19, there are some very practical limitations to both the student and the instructor needing to sit close to each other in the front of the car,” Mr Spalding said.
“Students who have test lessons booked will need to make new arrangements and should contact their driving school promptly to discuss this.
“People who have a driving test booked will receive a refund for the booking.”
