How to refresh your bathroom
You can give your bathroom a new look and a bit of love and affection without spending too much money.
One of the easiest and most affordable ways to achieve a fresh look for your bathroom is by de-cluttering. Set a morning aside, without distractions and empty your cupboards. Check dates on medicines and throw out any out of date ones.
If you have half-used beauty products you haven’t touched in more than a year, bite the bullet and toss them out, or create a separate storage spot and put them all in together. For example, place them in a basket on the top of your cupboard. If you then don’t touch the products for another six months, throw the whole basket out.
Put products you use daily in easy-to-reach locations that can be hidden away when not in use. Maybe get some wire baskets in which you can stack towels. Soap can look messy, so a container with a lid improves the look of your basin or tub.
Try a new look by renovating your bench – apply a new surface using products like Rustoleum to give your bathroom an entire new look. If not your bench, consider a fresh coat of paint to the walls. Or maybe invest a little and upgrade your taps to more modern versions.
If you have a floor cupboard, consider replacing it with a wall-mounted one and leave space under your sink to give the room a larger look. If you have blinds or curtains, change the fabric or style to accent the room, or improve the light.
If you have enough space, add a small TV, radio or portable bluetooth speakers to play music from your smartphone. Add framed art, fresh flowers or even a potted plant. Small details can make a very big difference and help you to start and finish your day on a good note.
Invest in some new towels, washers and floor mats. A new colour theme will give your bathroom a lift and who doesn’t love the feeling of fluffy new towels.
